She created The Best Dress List, The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), The COTY Awards and Fashion Week. Eleanor, helped to establish the New York Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum. She took on Washington, and successfully added fashion as an art form to the National Foundation on the Arts and Humanities Act of 1965. Miss Lambert helped advance the careers of numerous distinguished American designers and artists.
