You are assigned to Nashville or to our newest community, Chattanooga, and it is with great enthusiasm that we welcome you into our TFA community.
Across Nashville, we are a network of change agents united by our love for our students and for each other, and fueled by our unshakable belief that “One day, all children will have the opportunity to attain an excellent education.
I look forward to building partnerships, fostering deep connections within the Nashville and Chattanooga communities, and implementing programming that will advance our mission to provide excellent education to all students. I am committed to innovative and positive change that will drive the region forward during a time in education that is fueled by uncertainty.
We hope that this sparks a lifetime commitment to affecting education in wherever your careers may take you. Our alumni have gone on to get principal positions, start their own non profits, even become state commissioners of education for the state of Tennessee. The sky is the limit.

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you as a member of the Chattanooga Corps through Teach For America and the Nashville-Chattanooga region. As you step into a network of change agents united by love for our students and for each other — and fueled by our unshakable belief that “One day, all children will have the opportunity to attain an excellent education” — you are poised to prove what is possible in Chattanooga. We are honored to work in partnership and collaboration with a local network of educators, business leaders, and community partners to accelerate the growing movement for educational equity and achievement for students throughout Chattanooga.
As members of the corps in Chattanooga, you are joining a Teach For America network of nearly 60,000 corps members, alumni, and staff who are devoted to ending educational inequity in our lifetime. More locally, close to 50 Teach For America alumni who live and work in Chattanooga are excited to welcome you to our community and support you as you experience all that Chattanooga has to offer and connect with its people. The overall Teach For America network across Nashville-Chattanooga now numbers close to 1,200, and we are growing every day. Our nearly 500 corps members and alumni teachers score among the highest in the state year over year in leading their students to incredible academic gains. In short, you are joining a high performing network of leaders, and our region is so fortunate to have you as a partner.
We stand ready to support you as you join this movement and make a commitment to a group of students, a school, and a community that all deserve your passion, motivation, innovation, and persistence. This is a defining moment for a generation of students and our country. We have a once in a lifetime opportunity — and obligation — to put equity and the needs of our children at the center of education. We need you to help reinvent and transform education in Chattanooga.
