Collective Leadership & Learning

Practices, Perspectives, and Learning Principles that Develop Collective Leadership in and beyond the Classroom to Grow Students’ As Leaders of a Better future

Changing complex systems requires leadership that is collaborative and encourages leadership in others—rather than individuals acting on their own. This is what we call collective leadership. At Teach For All, we believe that the kind of collective leadership necessary to ensure that all children thrive must represent a diversity of perspectives and include the voices of those who have experienced the inequities we’re addressing.

Collective leadership is necessary because people—more than policy, funding, curricula and technology—change systems. We believe that improving education and expanding opportunity for all children requires teachers, students, administrators, community members, policy makers, and others to work together to both define the problem and develop sustainable solutions to address it.
