All teachers working under a new preliminary teaching credential are expected to enroll in the teacher induction year during their first year of teaching with a preliminary. This is an expectation of the CTC. As an induction partner, it is the expectation of TCSJ that all teachers working under a new preliminary credential, or any teacher who needs to complete induction in general, are informed of the expectation for them to enroll and they are directed to the TCSJ website to do so. The open enrollment window is from July 1- August 31st each year. If for any reason, a teacher does not apply during this window, you the employer will need to have them complete a declination letter and then send it to the induction program. The declination letter is evidence that the teacher is knowingly choosing not to enroll in the program during the prescribed first year teaching under a preliminary credential. If they decline enrollment, they will not be allowed to apply for early completion at a future date.
Once the enrollment window for the induction year closes, all partners will need to submit a letter of assurance to the induction program stating that all teachers needing to enroll in induction were provided the information related to the enrollment timeline and where to enroll. This documentation is used to meet CTC criteria.
