At your appointment, you will be asked to...
Sing a classical solo.
Your solo could be from our vocal audition solo list, a piece you've performed for a recent contest, or one you've been preparing with a voice teacher or choir.
Bring a copy of the sheet music for the judges and a device to play the accompaniment track. A speaker will be provided.
If you do not have an accompaniment track, please bring an extra copy of the sheet music so someone may play the piano for you.
Sing an excerpt from a song of your choice.
Sing us part of a song that shows off the best parts of your voice! This could be a song from the radio, from a show, etc.
You do not have to provide sheet music for this performance.
You may sing this with an accompaniment track or a cappella.
Demonstrate your sight-reading skills on solfege.
You will be given 8 measures of simple music to sing on solfege.
After the starting pitch is played, you will have 60 seconds to practice before you sing the excerpt for the judges.
Answer questions about your choir experience.
This helps us get to know you more and see if you will be a good fit for our Vocal Music Department
