Coach Smith challenged his World History students with a Document Based Question over the Renaissance and Reformation periods. Students watched Coach Smith model a written response before they practiced writing with their partners. These steps prepared all students to develop their final paragraph on their own!

Ms. Bing, Mrs. Gayle, and Mr. Guyton facilitated philosophical chairs in their English 1 classes to reinforce academic vocabulary. Students were asked to take a position over controversial statements by moving to a side of the room and and justifying their positions with reasons and evidence on whiteboards. Mr. Guyton pushed his students even further by asking them to provide a counterargument for their own argument!
