Hybrid Engine for Fishing boat
[Energy]
The HEF project aims to promote sustainable fishing practices in the ASEAN region by introducing hybrid engine systems in small fishing boats. This project addresses the issues associated with high fuel consumption, emissions, and operational costs of traditional diesel engines. By implementing hybrid engine systems, the project seeks to improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance the economic value of fishing operations.
Short-term objective: Install a hybrid engine system in one fishing boat in Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam.
Long-term objective: Demonstrate the benefits of reduced fuel consumption, emissions, and operational costs through hybrid engine systems and promote their adoption in the ASEAN region.
Feasibility study: Assess the suitability of hybrid engine systems for fishing boats in the ASEAN region and select the most suitable vessel model for prototyping.
Hybrid engine system installation: Purchase and install a hybrid engine system in the selected fishing boat in Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam.
