Cooperative Education (Co-op)
This program is recommended for secondary students who wish to gain up to two credits through experiential learning. This program combines online asynchronous/flex-time instruction with on-site practical work experience. Students can explore future careers or fulfil co-op requirements for Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs.
Co-operative Education is a specialized 2-credit summer program that bridges the gap between classroom theory and practical experience in business, industry, and the community. By integrating academic learning with a hands-on workplace component, students earn credits toward their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) in a real-world environment. This unique opportunity allows students to explore diverse career paths and develop the essential skills, work habits, and professional attitudes necessary for a successful transition to their post-secondary destination whether that be Apprenticeship, College, University, or the Workplace.
This program is for current TDSB students in Grades 11 and 12 only. Students must be able to commit to the entirety of the program dates; there is NO provision for missing time due to things like family vacation.
The Cooperative Education Summer 2026 program runs from June 29, 2026, to August 7, 2026, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
