STEP TO TRANSPORTATION

"I’m not sure what trade I want to work in but I think it’s one in the transportation industry.".

This full semester co-op program, called STEP to Transportation, lets Grade 11 and 12 students spend a semester on a job site sampling several skilled trades – from truck and coach technician to auto body collision repair, electronics to millwright, metal fabrication, welding, and more – to see if one sparks their interest.

This full semester co-op program, called STEP to Construction, lets Grade 11 and 12 students spend a semester on a job site sampling several skilled trades – from electrical to carpentry, drywall to sheet metal work, plumbing, tile-setting, bricklaying, cement finishing and general labour and construction craft work.

New Construction Placements rotated at the TTC - Toronto Transit Commission

Students will rotate through 3 different trades at the TTC such as HVAC, Plumbing, Overhead (Electrical), Track (repair & replace track), Repair Shop (repair overhead doors and small engine tools), Fire Protection, Streetcar (building tracks)
