Toronto District School Board's Deaf/Hard of Hearing Regional Services Team, as part of the Special Education and Inclusion Department, provides a variety of services to students with hearing differences. These supports are delivered by Specialist Teachers of Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ToDHH) and an Audiologist.
Our team works in collaboration with Professional Support Services (PSS) staff in our schools. Members of our team may provide assessments, consultations, and/or support to students and school teams.

Students and staff from our programs at Northern SS, Drewry SS and Virtual School collaborated over the Covid pandemic to share O Canada in American Sign Language.
In 2019, Lambton Kingsway JS students who received support from the D/HH team collected used hearing aids to have repaired (as needed) and used for kids in need, both locally and internationally.
They partnered with Union Hearing, Gina Oh from Sound Advice, and Tracy Saunders from Sound Solutions Audiology Clinics to do hearing aid fittings for this project.
You can learn more about this project in the video below.
Our team continues to accept used hearing aids that can be donated to a child in need. If you have hearing aids that you would like to donate, please contact Jamie.Boone@tdsb.on.ca .
