Students enrolled in Extended French must follow the plan outlined below if they wish to remain in the program and receive a Certificate of Bilingual Studies in Extended French.
Students may earn one of two Certificates of Bilingual Studies in French Immersion:
Certificate of Bilingual Studies in Extended French
Minimum of 7 courses in French-language instruction over 4 years; and
Four courses must be French language classes (i.e., FEF1D, FEF2D, FEF3U and FEF4U).
Honours Certificate of Bilingual Studies in Extended French
Minimum of 8 courses in French-language instruction over 4 years; and
Four courses must be French language classes (i.e., FEF1D, FEF2D, FEF3U and FEF4U).
These are minimum requirements. Most students opt to work towards the Honours certificate. If they choose to work towards an Honours certificate, students are required to enrol in the courses indicated for each grade (see chart below). They may not take fewer than the minimum outlined above, if they want to obtain a Certificate of Bilingual Studies in Extended French.
