Core French is the continuation of the beginning of learning within French as a Second Language. Students enrolled in this program may be beginners, intermediate or advanced language learners. Typically, students enrolled in this program have not been in a specialized French program (i.e., Extended French, French Immersion). Students who wish to continue their French studies past Grade 9 and into their senior year will be eligible to receive a Certificate of Achievement - Completion of the Core French Program.
In order for students to receive a Certificate of Achievement - Completion of Core French Program, they must complete the following four French language credits:
FSF1D: Grade 9 Academic French (Enhanced Pathways)
FSF2D: Grade 10 Academic French
FSF3U: Grade 11 University Preparation French
FSF4U: Grade 11 University Preparation French
These are minimum requirements. If students choose towards completing the program, they are required to enroll in the courses indicated for each grade (see chart below). They may not take fewer than the minimum outlined above, if they want to obtain a Certificate of Achievement - Completion of the Core French Program.
