Principals' Message
Welcome to Oakridge Junior Public School, a proud Toronto District School Board community serving students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 4.
Oakridge is a vibrant and diverse school where students, families, staff, and community partners work together to create a caring, inclusive and engaging learning environment. We are committed to ensuring that every student feels known, valued, and supported while developing the confidence, curiosity and skills needed to thrive.
As an Early Years school, we place a strong emphasis on building foundational skills in literacy and mathematics through responsive, evidence-informed instruction. We also recognize that children learn in many different ways. Through play, inquiry, movement, the arts and hands-on learning, students are encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, communicate their thinking and take an active role in their learning.
Our commitment to equity and inclusion is central to our work. We strive to create learning environments that reflect and affirm the identities, strengths, and experiences of our students. Oakridgeโs focus on land-based and Indigenous learning also invites students to deepen their relationships with the natural world, understand their responsibilities to one another and learn from diverse ways of knowing.
It is a privilege to serve as Principal of Oakridge Junior Public School. I look forward to continuing to learn with and from our students, staff, families and community as we build a school where every child can experience success.
