CROSS COUNTRY

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10TH

GLEDHILL HAD AN AMAZING DAY AT CROSS COUNTRY ON THE 7TH. SO MANY OF OUR GLEDHILL STUDENTS PARTICIPATED AND SOME WILL MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ROUND.

THE BEST THING ABOUT CROSS COUNTRY IS HOW INCLUSIVE IT IS. ANYONE CAN WALK, RUN THE COURSE AND BE A PART OF THE TEAM. PRACTICES HAVE BEEN GOING STRONG SINCE ALMOST THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR, AND WE APPRECIATE ALL THE SUPPORT FROM FAMILIES.

THE SOUTH FINALS ARE OCTOBER 22ND.

CITY FINALS ARE OCTOBER 29TH.

From Ms. Smith, Mme. McPherson, and Ms. Jeens:

We would like to congratulate Gledhill’s Cross Country Team on a wonderful day at Sunnybrook Park yesterday! Luckily, the rain held up. I am very proud of the effort you all put forth this season. In the Grade 2 boys’ race, Miles (Room 9) finished in 8th and Lucas (Room 18) finished in 18th place. In the girls’ event, Savannah (Room 9) came in 4th place!

We also have five students who advanced to the South Conference Finals on Wednesday, October 22nd. They are:

Grade 3 Boys:

Emmett (Room 20) (7th place)

Grade 3 Girls:

Esme (Room 28) (14th place)

Grade 4 Boys:

Liam Baker (Room 27) (13th place)

Grade 5 Girls:

Winnie (19th place) and Edie (20th place), both from Room 25.

The next round of practices will start on Wednesday the 15th at 8:00 a.m. I will come around with an updated calendar soon. Long distance running is such hard work! Great job, everyone!!
