TDSB offers a summer school course called GLD201. The Grade 8 Reach Ahead program is only available for incoming Grade 8 TDSB students. Grade 8 students are ONLY eligible for the GLD2O1 course. It is available both in person and online. Please see the promo flyer from the TDSB.

As a Grade 8 student how do I enroll into the GLD2OE Reach Ahead Credit?
Go to our registration tab and follow the instructions to access the eReg System. When you are in the eReg System, select the session that you would like to enroll into your choices are Grade 8 Reach Ahead July or Grade 8 Reach Ahead August. You will see only one course GLD2OE which has the title of Discovering the Workplace. This is the correct Reach Ahead course for the summer of 2022. Once you submit your request you will be sent an email that has a permission form link. Please scroll down to the information for Grade 8 students and make sure you fill out the permission form specific to the GLD2OE Reach Ahead program. Please upload this permission form to the eReg system in the supporting documents section. Steps will be provided in the same email. There is no need to request approval or signatures from the Grade 8 school or the secondary school. All approvals will be made by the eLearning office.
Incoming TDSB Grade 8 students are eligible to register for the TDSB Continuing Education, Remote Secondary Full Credit Summer Reach Ahead Course, GLD2O1 that is offered in July only. All classes are remote in the remote programs. In our Remote Learning model students will be at home learning live (synchronously) with their teacher daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Monday to Friday. Attendance is MANDATORY.
GLD2O1- Exploring My Future – Grade 10 – Open: Students will enhance their literacy and numeracy skills, increase their essential skills and personal development, be supported in their transition to secondary school and develop friendships through positive relationship building.
Grade 8 students are not eligible to enrol into any other Secondary Credit with Continuing Education.
Please note that space in all courses is limited and may fill up prior to the close of registration.
Continuing Education students are responsible for providing their own learning materials, including laptops/internet access. These are not provided by Continuing Education.
