Monarch Park wants to help you love math. If you're already there, we run the Waterloo Math Contests every year. Before you get to grade 9, consider trying the Gauss contests that cover grade 7 and 8 plus enrichment materials.
As a grade 9 student, you will have the option of signing up to write the Pascal and/or the Fryer math contests.
Listen for announcements early in the year for math contest practice sessions and sign-ups.
We understand that not everyone has had positive experiences with math and you may have developed some gaps in their learning. Your teacher is here to help you!
Monarch Park also runs a homework hangout Monday - Thursday from 3:15 - 4:30 where you can come and do your homework and/or get some help. We can also pair you with a senior student for some ongoing tutoring support.
If you have (or suspect you may have) math anxiety, talk to your math teacher, book an appointment with your guidance counsellor or start here with this resource from George Brown College: DEALING WITH MATH ANXIETY
