Math, Science and Technology Program: Systems Design
Malvern's Systems Design Program is intended for students interested in engineering, robotics, coding, and technology pathways. Students enrolled in this program are expected to participate in excursions, workshops, competitions, clubs, and field trips that allow students to garner a deeper understanding and application of the content they are learning in their courses.
All current Grade 9 students registered at Malvern are eligible to apply to the Local MST Program during their course selection. To express your interest in this program, please complete the form below. Should applications surpass capacity there will be a random selection process. Interest form is due Tuesday February 18th at 4pm.

Course Requirements
Students must satisfy the following course requirements.
Gr 10 Digital Technology and Innovations (ICD2O)
Gr 10 Science (SNC2D)
Gr 11 Technological Design (TDJ3M) or Gr 11 Communication Technology (TGJ3M) or Gr. 11 Intro to Computer Science (ICS3U)
Gr 11 Math Credit
Gr 11 Physics (SPH3U) or Gr 11 Environmental Science (SVN3M)
Gr 12 Math Credit
Gr 12 Technological Design (TDJ4M) or Gr 12 Physics (SPH4U) or Gr 12 Computer Science (ICS4U)
Competition Requirements
In Gr 10, you will be participating in the University of Waterloo Beaver Computing Challenge. You are encouraged to participate in other Science, Math and Computing competitions as well!
In Gr 11 and Gr 12, you must participate in at least one of the competitions listed below.
Waterloo CCC (Canadian Computing Competition)
Gr. 9-11 Pascal, Cayley, Fermat Waterloo Math Contests
Gr. 9-11 Fryer, Galois, Hypatia Waterloo Math Contests
Gr. 9-12 Waterloo Canadian Intermediate / Senior Contests (CISC)
Gr. 12 Euclid Waterloo Math Contest
Gr. 11 Avogadro's Waterloo Chemistry Contest
Gr. 12 Chem 13 News Waterloo Chemistry Contest
Gr. 11 OAPT U of T Physics Competition
Gr. 12 Sir Isaac Newton Waterloo Physics Contest
Extra-Curricular Requirements
In each year, students in the MST Program must participate in at least one of the following extra-curricular clubs. For more information about each club, visit Malvern's Extra-Curricular Website.
