Welcome to Department of Mathematics and Computer Science Website at L'Amoreaux Collegiate Institute. In this page you can find the course offering flow chart for both Mathematics and Computer Science courses. You can also find the detail for various Mathematics and Computer Science contest our students write every year. The contests allow the students to think outside of the box and allow  them to apply the knowledge and skills they have learnt in various context.  In the Computer Science classes student are learning the trending programming languages that are widely used in the industry. In Grade 10 students learn Programming in Python and PyGame. In Grade 11 they will be introduced to programming in Java and Grade 12 they will be learning Object Oriented Programming in Java. 

Grade 9 Academic Mathematics Preparation

If you are a grade 8 student, heading into Grade 9 in September, we highly recommend completing the activities that have been provided in our Grade 9 Academic Mathematics Preparation Program. These activities, lessons and videos will help to prepare you for what you will experience. As well, we have given you some actual Grade 9 Academic Math material so that you can reach ahead and/or regular re-visit while you are in the course to help you be successful in the course.
