The English department at L’Amoreaux helps students to build reading and writing stamina by integrating daily literacy tasks into each day. Students are exposed to a variety of culturally responsive texts which reflect the diversity in the class, allowing students to develop empathy while also fostering essential critical thinking while reading. During English classes, students are also able to refine media literacy skills and oral communication skills. Some activities you can find students doing in our classes: having roundtable discussions, creating products related to their reading, engaging in debates, creating tableaus and skits, etc.
