At-Home Activity: Spread Kindness Coupons!
Give your child some scrap paper or construction paper, a pencil, and crayons. Help your child cut the paper into large rectangles for coupons.
On each coupon, your child can write/tell you a way to help around the house—for example, cleaning the table, helping to cook a meal, or taking clothes out of the dryer. Your child can also draw pictures on the coupons.
When your child is finished, staple/tape the coupons together to make a coupon book. The next time you need a hand, simply tear off a coupon and collect!
You can take a photo and e-mail it to Ms. Mete and Ms. Omar!

At-Home Activity:
Bears set up comfortable dens where they can hibernate. They gather leaves for a bed and shut out the winter chill to stay comfy and warm all winter long.
Give your child a few linens, like quilts, sheets, or towels.
Decide on a place in your home that might be a good spot for making a shelter.
Let your child experiment draping the linens in different ways. Your child can play the bear and figure out the best way to cover him- or herself.
If you like, you can let your child use pillows for a comfy bed and even take a couple of stuffed animals into the den to be bear cubs
At-Home Activity: Materials: household fruits and vegetables
Tell your child that people eat plants! Eating plants helps us stay healthy.
Together search your kitchen for edible plants. Look for different parts of plants, for example: carrots or onions for roots; broccoli tops for flowers; lettuce for leaves; beans or peas for seeds; celery for stems; and bananas for fruit.
Then pick out some plant parts to share as a snack!

Create a beautiful ocean scene with crayons and watercolour paint!
Have your child use crayons to draw any ocean animal on a sheet of thick paper. (You can also draw outlines of animals for your child to color in.)
Have your child press hard with the crayons so there is a thick layer of crayon wax.
Then get out your watercolors. (You can also make your own paint with a couple of drops of food coloring in a cup of water.)
Your child can paint over the whole paper with blues and greens. You can still see the animal through the “ocean” because the waxy crayon repels water!

EXPLORE GRAVITY! These super-simple ideas show that what goes up must come down!
Materials: blocks or a cardboard box, toy cars or marbles, paper
Gather a few small items of different weights, such as a crayon, a crumpled piece of paper, a tissue, and a stuffed toy. Have your child drop each item from shoulder height. Do some items fall faster than others?
Help your child build a ramp from blocks, the side of a cardboard box, or other household items. Roll a toy car down it. It rolls from the top down by itself, but how about from the bottom up? No—it has to be pushed!
Make a paper airplane together and test it out! How far can it fly? No matter how far it goes, it always lands somewhere. That’s because of gravity!
