My name is Alyssa –
I feel so lucky to be the Social Worker at Downsview Secondary School because I love having the opportunity to connect and build relationships with students. While most of the students that know me will tell you that my jokes aren’t funny, I think it’s important to have a sense of humour – now more than ever!
Many students and families are nervous to meet with me at first, and I understand this.
Being relational is an important part of my practice, and because of this, I work hard to gain the trust of my students, families, and the community in which I work, so that I can do the best job possible of helping people meet their goals.
If you would like to connect with me, talk to your Guidance Counsellor to learn about the referral process.
Hey! I'm Jodi, the Youth Worker at Downsview.
My role at Downsview is to support students with any social, emotional or behaviour needs.
What does this even mean!?
Basically I can support students with many needs outside of their academics. CYWs typically work with young people and their families with all types of stuff going on in their lives. Things like: family, friends, school, teachers, mood & stress just to name a few.
I am in the building on Tuesday, Thursday and every second Friday. I can connect in a variety of ways with students both virtually and in-person (safety protocols always in place).
Please email me at jodi.price@tdsb.on.ca to connect.
