The school office is a busy place and we are so excited to welcome you!
If your child will be absent or late for any reason, please call school messenger at 1-833-250-2290 between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm. This is a 24-hour number and you may leave a message. When children are not at school, and we have not been informed by the parent/guardian, the safe arrival automated system will contact you to find out why your child is absent. If your children will be coming to school late, please send a note with them. Please be sure that we have your up-to-date home, mobile and business telephone numbers. If these numbers change at any time in the school year, please send a note to your child’s teacher with the new information as soon as possible or please call the school office at 416-393-0570.
Kindly note:
If your child is ill or there are definite signs of illness, please do not send your child to school. We do not have the facilities or the personnel to care for sick children at school. Please call the school to let us know. Students who become ill or injured during the day are to let their teacher know immediately. Our policy is to get students, who are ill, home as soon as possible. Our practice will be to call parents/caregivers at home or at work to inform them that their child should be picked up. For this reason, it is important that parents keep work and emergency phone numbers current. Please note that school staff are not permitted to give medication to students without a signed medical form from a doctor. Please ask our office staff for an Administration of Prescribed Medication form if you would like to make this request.
If parents/caregivers want the school to be aware of any special medical condition of their child, they must inform the principal directly in writing, or with a doctor’s note. Sharing such information is for the benefit and safety of your child. Confidentiality will be maintained between the principal and the school personnel concerned. It is also important that the teacher and the office be aware of any procedures or medications required in an emergency. If your child requires daily medication or needs to carry an EPI Pen or puffer, please inform the office. An Administration of Prescription Medication form will be sent home to be filled out, signed by the parent and child’s doctor, and returned as soon as possible. This form needs to be updated each year. Staff are not permitted to administer any medications without a doctor’s note and a clearly labelled prescription bottle. If your child requires an EPI Pen, he/she must always have it on them. An extra EPI pen to be kept in the office is advisable.
