Gneiss and Slate

You have either Gneiss or Slate. Take a look below to find out which one!

If your rock has white or back or pink bands in it, then it is Gneiss!

It was formed by granite being under much heat and pressure that the minerals gathered together and formed layers.

If your rock has all black or grey layers in it, then you have Slate!

Slate was made from compressed shale and was used for blackboards.
