BE WELL AT NACI
December 02, 2021
December 02, 2021
We ALL have mental health and 1/5 people will experience some kind of mental illness in their lifetime. It is important that we talk about mental health and learn how we can take care of our minds. Remember: all of your feelings are valid and reaching out to talk to someone about your feelings is a sign of strength!
Created by NACI's student Wellness Ambassadors, check out this promo video on the kinds of workshops coming to Be Well @ NACI
A Message from Mr. Khan
A quick message from our Principal to kick off the event.
MEET THE 2021 SPEAKERS
Ontario’s Asante Haughton, Jamaican-born and raised in Toronto, is described by friends as a an innovator, gifted natural storyteller and rapper. He uses those skills to spread positivity as a catalyst for change. Asante’s message is that systemic inequities such as poverty, structural racism and other deep-rooted issues are not recognized enough as factors that are detrimental to the mental health of individuals from marginalized communities. This is why he calls for change at the local, provincial and national levels through awareness raising. He believes these issues – which Asante feels can prevent younger people from living their best lives – with the right supports, can be overcome." - CAMH
