Planning for Post-Secondary
Research, planning and career exploration are vital components of effective post-secondary planning. At Bloor CI we use the myBlueprint Education and Career Planner to support students with their pathway planning, and yearly online course selection submissions.
Our school hosts a yearly Ontario colleges and universities fair for students in Grade 10 to 12. The date for this event is in the school calendar/agenda. Grade 11 parents and students are invited to a post-secondary information night in the spring of your grade 11 year. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to a guidance counsellor if you have any questions or concerns.
Co-operative education, Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), the School Within a College Program (SWAC) and Dual Credit programs are some of the many ways that we encourage students to learn outside of the traditional classroom setting.

Post-secondary Financing/Scholarships
Please check the financial aid pages of each post-secondary institution. There are many community based scholarships that have a range of eligibility criteria and not just marks! There are also scholarships for athleticism, leadership, anti-racist organizing, and scholarships for specific communities that are historically under-represented in post-secondary programs!
Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) - budget tool is useful to project your expenses. Apply to OSAP after you have accepted your post-secondary offer.
Guidance counsellors continue to post other scholarship opportunities in the Graduating Class Edmodo site used to communicate with all graduating students during their grade 12 graduating year.
