Guidance @ Bloor Collegiate Institute

The guidance department at Bloor Collegiate is a safer, welcoming and supportive space for students during your years in high school. We welcome our Bloor families and caregivers to visit us when you can.

Our work is based on the belief that students can learn to their full potential and that all students can be successful with the right supports. Bloor Collegiate believes in fostering learning environments where students feel valued, reflected, connected to and actively supported by caring adults within the school community.

The Guidance and Student Services we offer that promote student success include

  • One-on-One Counselling Support - this topic can sometimes feel uncomfortable. This quote from the Kids Help Phone might help you understand that counselling is actually a conversation.

"What is counselling?

Some people get a little weirded out when they hear the word “counselling.” That’s OK. Basically, counselling is about talking to someone who knows about many different issues that young people face. We think of counselling as a conversation with someone whom you can trust, who won’t judge you, and who wants to help." - Kids Help Phone
