After having been raised in Nashville, TN, I made my way to Saint Louis University where I graduated with degrees in English and Education in 2000. I student taught at Triad during that time and was lucky enough to be hired in 2001. I’ve been teaching and coaching at the high school since then. My focus of late has been in the technology realm, and I have been a tech coach in the district since 2014. I have been married since 2003 to a teacher in a neighboring district and we have two beautiful twin boys. In the little spare time I have, I’m watching the Cardinals, learning about all things Google, playing classic rock and blues with my band Sweetbottom, and building and selling guitar effects pedals.

I graduated from SIUE in 1999 with a degree in Elementary Education and was hired by Triad less than a week after graduating and have taught science, math, social studies, and English as core subjects. I moved into the exploratory world in 2005 with the creation of Career Lab. In 2013, I created an exploratory called Tech Lab where students learned about computer coding, digital citizenship, and the Genius Hour Project. I earned a master’s degree in Instructional Technology in 2006 from SIUE and another one in Educational Administration from McKendree University in 2012. I am currently a K-12 Instructional Technology Coach responsible for Triad Middle and High School. I’ve coached 7th grade baseball since the fall of 2000. I love all things technology especially photography, videography, and graphic design. I am married to a school nurse and have three children.

My name is Mrs. Sarah Phelps. I previously taught 4th grade at Henning Elementary for eight years. I currently teach computer coding and programming to 2nd through 5th grade students district wide as well as choice for Marine and Silver Creek. I have created a makerspace at Silver Creek, where students in pre-K through 5th grade come to do hands on activities related to science, technology, engineering, and math. I love science and technology! I have three boys who all attend Triad schools. I am a life long learner, and I love to tackle new challenges.

I graduated from Alton-Marquette in 2000. I attended St. Louis University, spent a year abroad studying in Madrid, and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Marketing and International Studies. Throughout high school and college, I taught swimming lessons and English as a second language. For 3 years I worked in marketing at Maritz. I returned to school and graduated in 2009 with a degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. I earned my Masters degree in Instructional Strategies in 2015 from Rockford University. My family and I live in Troy. I have been married to my husband, a CPA at a local accounting firm, for 14 years. I have two boys, 10 and 7, who also attend Triad schools. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, running, and traveling. I have taught 5th grade for 9 years, and this will be my first year teaching computer science.

I graduated from Triad High School in 2002. I graduated with my Business, Marketing, Computer Science, & Accounting degree in 2007 from Illinois State University. I am excited to be back teaching at Triad High School, where I created many memories myself. I received my Master's in administration in 2015 from SIUE. Outside of teaching, I love to be with my family, working out, cooking, and being a Mom. I have a beautiful daughter who loves to spend her energy doing back handsprings, round offs, and flipping around the house. I look forward to teaching your children! Thank you!
