Writing: In-Class Essays & Big Report
Each Novel Study includes a plethora of writing opportunities such as essays, letter writing, and projects that students will complete
Students will also learn how to write in cursive, as we will use this often for writing Thank You cards and historic reports
Students will also write a Dear Future Self essay in he beginning of the year with their portrait and a response letter at the end of the year with their final portrait for 5th grade
Other Essays include: Thanksgiving Traditions, Opinion Essays for Characters in novel studies, Spooky Story Narrative, and Winter Silly Narrative
For Fun, Students also practice writing word problems to solve in math on white boards, and a finish the prompt silly story activity
Beginning in February, students will start researching and planning their Big Report, which will last for the remainder of the spring semester!
Art: Every Other Friday (September - June)
Parents are needed for volunteering when completing art projects every other Friday! (Please refer to the Sign Up Genius sent out via room parent)
Students will learn about Artists including Van Gogh, Monet, Dali, Picasso, Warhol, and many other famous artists!
Art is displayed in class, and then taken home at the end of every month!
