I find purpose in becoming an English teacher because it is a job that cultivates autonomy and literary passions among adolescents
My profession can inspire future generations to become critical consumers and producers of literature
I hope that my students can use their content knowledge to exercise empathy towards others, employ critical thinking, and communicate effectively in settings familiar and unfamiliar to their sociocultural backgrounds
I want to support my students' authentic voices, voices they can use to support their unending careers as learners inside and beyond the classroom
I aim to help my students become agents of progression towards an empathetic society as they develop into advocates for themselves and others
