This website is a portfolio of my work as an undergraduate English - Secondary Education student at The College of New Jersey in "Clinical One," the first phase of student teaching. Throughout this portfolio, you will explore some of my experiences as a first-time English Language Arts student teacher. I hope you enjoy these snippets of my journey!

"Stories have been used to dispossess and to malign. But stories can also be used to empower, and to humanize. Stories can break the dignity of a people. But stories can also repair that broken dignity."

I graduated Franklin Township Public High School in Somerset, New Jersey in 2019. Now I am a junior undergraduate student pursuing a BA in English-Secondary Education at The College of New Jersey.
I was also recently accepted into the Five-Year English MA program at TCNJ in which I plan to further my knowledge of pedagogy and literature. And I am a first-generation college student—I am the first (and currently only) person in my family to attend college.
Because of COVID-19, perpetual lockdowns, and the consequential migration onto Zoom, I did not have previous practicum experiences. My fieldwork in Clinical One was the first time I ever stepped foot in a classroom as a student teacher and English-Secondary Education major.
However, throughout high school I worked as a peer and middle/elementary school tutor in the school year and a camp counselor in the summer.
