First Six Weeks

Objectives: Typing, Word Processing, Digital Citizenship, Computer Coding

Week 1

• Introductions

• Review Computer Lab Rules: Discuss the rules of the computer lab.

• Review the homerow and proper finger technique.

• Typing Review:

  • Complete 25-30 minutes or until done.

    • Keyboard Review (Good posture and watch the screen)

Week 2

• Students will use a graphic organizer to write about their vacation. See instructions here.

• My Vacation : Select the "My Vacation" Template.

• Write 100+ words about your vacation. Save your work.

Assign Enrichment: Students work on enrichment activities when finished.

Week 3

• Students will complete activities that will teach them how to code.

• Coding with Comments

• Additional Coding Practice

Week 4

• Typing Review

• Work on Keyboard Climber 2. Type with both hands. Finish level two!

Week 5

• Digital Citizenship - watch the video with your teacher or individually

• Quiz - take the graded quiz and let your teacher know your final score.

• Time Zone X game

• Meaning of Beep game

Week 6

• Students will complete activities that will teach them how to code.

• Creating Art with Code

• Additional Coding Practice

• Debugging with Scrat
