Employees and students may explore artificial intelligence (AI) and implement its use in and out of the classroom. AI should only be used as a support tool to enhance student outcomes and never take the place of teacher and student decision-making.
A student may only use AI tools with teacher permission and is expected to produce original work and properly credit sources, including AI tools used in creating the work.
Students who use AI tools to deceptively harm, bully, or harass others shall be disciplined in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and policy.
Academic dishonesty includes cheating or copying the work of another student, plagiarism, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to complete an assignment in part or in whole unless approved by the classroom teacher, and unauthorized communication between students during an examination.

Students use AI tools responsibly as educational aids to enhance learning and understanding.
Students will not use AI to plagiarize or cheat on assignments, tests, or any other academic work.
Students understand AI-generated content is not considered their personal intellectual property, and they must follow educational guidelines for using and citing digital resources when using AI in their work.
Students will not knowingly or recklessly post false or defamatory information about a person or organization, including, but not limited to, using AI to create or alter photos to misrepresent an individual.

Teachers must cite or acknowledge the use of websites, books, media, AI tools, and other resources when appropriate.
Teachers are expected to follow copyright, fair use, licensing, and intellectual property laws when using or creating materials with AI or other digital tools.
Teachers must not upload personally identifiable student information, confidential records, grades, student work, images, or other protected data into any AI tool unless the tool has been reviewed and approved by the district for that purpose.
Teachers are responsible for clearly communicating to students when AI use is allowed, limited, or prohibited on assignments, projects, assessments, or other student work. Expectations should be shared in advance and should align with district and campus guidelines.
When using AI to assist with grading, feedback, communication, or supplemental instructional materials, the teacher remains responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying the content before it is shared or used with students.
