What Are KPIs?
KPIs are an actionable scorecard that keeps your strategy on track. They enable you to manage, control and achieve desired business results. Let's take a quick look at several types of KPIs you may wish to develop or encounter.
They are easy to understand and update visual representations of metrics. This automates data analysis, and public sharing with stakeholders, from various systems.
Percentage Of Classes Using Technology: You’ll want a high percentage of classes in your school using the technologies or online platforms that have been provided to them.
Percentage Of Administrators Using Technology: Both teachers and administrators should be using the online- or classroom-based technologies they’ve been provided for lessons, projects, or activities—and this metric should make you aware of whether that is happening or not.
Social Media Engagement: The analytics you’ll need for this metric are often available through the social media platforms your school chooses to employ (like Facebook, for example), and can show how well your social media department is performing.
Level of Teaching Innovation (LOTI) or Brightbytes Clarity Survey Data: Data that can be shared or used by District for assessing progress towards technology integration.
Calls To HelpDesk Per Month: This may act as a productivity metric for your IT department, showing them how many calls they’re fielded and how many (if any) went unanswered.
Average Handle Time for HelpDesk: The average number of seconds required to handle a single call (includes inbound and outbound calls), including any after-call work that is required.
Average Response Time for On-Site Support: This addresses how long it takes for a technician to respond and resolve most help requests (or trouble tickets).
Technology budget as a percentage of total expense: Total expense incurred by the IT Department divided by the total, company-wide operational expense over the same time period, as a percentage.
Outsourced vs insourced Services Cost Overview: A comparison of expenses incurred for hiring external consultants, outsourced services vs insourced services.
Cost and Quantity of Devices deployed in schools: Total devices deployed at various locations in organization, per unit cost and per unit total investment.
Inventory: How many items are part of an active inventory, have been removed from inventory, are "aged" and have become obsolete. This should be connected to equipment replacement plan and costs planned in advance.
Deployment of Equipment for a specific project: Status of equipment deployment at each campus/location.
Number of devices connected to the network: This includes the number of devices connected to your campus, district network.
Web Site Hits: Total web sites your Technology Department web site or specific pages have received in a certain period of time.
Bandwidth usage: This includes how much bandwidth is available vs what is being used.
