The green industries unit is about agriculture, forestry, soil nutrients, taxonomy, genetic diversity, and plant/tree/leaf identification (how to identify species and differentiate them as well). This unit goes into depth upon green industries and on how to identify particular species of trees/plants. We learnt about how global warming and climate change had impacted agriculture and the soil, and we watched a documentary about it called "kiss the ground". We had also learnt about soil nutrients which are nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium; these nutrients are a necessity for the soil. We did taxonomy for leaves, trees and plants; we could use certain characteristics from the those given items to identify what kind of a species it is whilst using our precision. Another thing that we had learnt about would be genetic diversity and seeding saving which is crucial due to the fact that we need to breed species in order to create better ones, and without saving seeds it could potentially be wasteful and quite costly as seeds are what create new plants and the cycle is ongoing. We also learnt upon how forestry is beneficial and important. These were the main topics that were covered in this unit. This unit was mainly about the environment and underlying issue that correlate to it.
These are my best assignments from unit 2! :D
