Come to the Chapel for quiet prayer. Every Thursday from 3-4 pm, we have YEA DAY, which stands for Youth Eucharistic Adoration. Jesus tells us, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest"
(Matt 11:28).
St. Basil-the-Great was born at Caesarea in Cappadocia, today part of modern-day Turkey, around 300 and died there in 379. He is usually regarded as the founder of Eastern monasticism. St. Basil fought against Arianism – a heresy which denied the divinity of Christ. St. Basil reprimanded the rich to assist the needy. As an example he sold all of his own property to feed and care for the poor. In the way he lived his life and in everything he did, St. Basil exemplified our school motto:
Excelsa Petite
Strive
for that which is great.
