TSU GRADUATING STUDENT AWARD
This award is presented to a graduating student with a strong sense of social responsibility, moral values and a desire to achieve social justice through their participation in school or community-based activities. They have managed to maintain a minimum 70% average in their graduating year. This award is donated by the Toronto Secondary Unit.

LIFT STUDENT MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
St. Joseph’s LIFT (Leading Inclusive Futures Together) program is a one week summer mentorship program for local, Black, Indigenous, and racialized grade 9 and 10 high school students. The program runs at St. Joseph’s Health Centre (30 The Queensway, Toronto M6S) on July 20-24 OR August 10-14, 2026. The application deadline is Thursday April 30, 2026.
In this program you will spend the first half of each day getting a behind-the scenes view of the hospital: you’ll get to try cool hands-on activities like simulation surgery, putting on a cast, or watching a doctor work out a tricky diagnosis.
The rest of the day will include:
team activities with other students,
career sessions,
an opportunity to hear Indigenous perspectives on well-being and healthcare,
and a chance share your ideas for the future of medicine with hospital leaders!
This is a paid opportunity: We will provide you with a $600 stipend for completing this program. In addition, we will cover all your transport costs and provide free lunches for the week.

YOUTH IN POLICING
TPS is now accepting applications for the 2026 Youth in Policing Initiative Summer Hybrid Program.
This program gives young people a paid opportunity to develop job skills while fostering positive partnerships with the Toronto Police Service.
Youth, ages 15 to 18, who reside in a Neighbourhood Improvement Area in Toronto, are employed throughout the year, working alongside police officers and civilian staff in a wide range of roles. The program is offered full-time in the summer and after-school during the rest of the year at a rate of $17.60 per hour.
The program runs from Wednesday, August 26, 2026 to Saturday, December 19, 2026, 6 hours a week, 7 hours of training per month.

UOFT SUMMER PROGRAMMING FOR BLACK YOUTH
University of Toronto is offering free summer programming specifically for Black youth.
Blueprint is an academic enrichment program designed for Black students interested in science and engineering. It is open to Canadian students currently in Grades 10 and 11 who identify as Black and are interested in pursuing careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). The program includes four weeks of summer programming followed by year-long engagement.
Summer Program:
The summer program takes place in person at the University of Toronto’s St. George campus for four weeks in July. Students will explore design and innovation across engineering disciplines and participate in two engineering-focused summer courses, educational excursions, and community‑building events.
Year‑Long Engagement:
After the summer portion, students will continue in one of two engagement streams. Students entering Grade 11 will participate in Prepare, which focuses on leadership development and soft‑skill building. Students entering Grade 12 will participate in My Academic Preparation Sessions (MAPS), which supports university application planning and academic readiness.
Students must apply by March 29, 2026.

Students are to answer all application questions. Application questions will be evaluated. Students are encouraged to take good care in crafting well written responses.
