The Advanced Placement Program is an internationally recognized program that fosters success in higher education by encouraging students to develop critical thinking skills at the highest level. An Advanced Placement (AP) course offers university-level content to students at the high school level. Advanced Placement courses are enriched 12-U courses. In addition to the regular senior course, some units will be expanded to include first year University material. Successful completion of AP exams can earn students credits or advanced standing at most universities in Canada and abroad.
In grade 9, the Pre-AP program provides an enriched classroom setting for highly-motivated students in the areas of English, Math, Science, French, and Geography. These pre-AP classes lead to AP classes in grade 12 which prepare students to write the AP exams for possible University credits. The flexibility of the AP program allows students to select the number of Pre-AP/AP courses that suit their learning needs
