Unit Title: Fast Fashion
Students will be learning about, exploring, and deepening science and technology skills through the social justice topic of fast fashion. Students will begin by learning what manufacturing goes into the clothing they wear every day, they will take a look at how the fast fashion industry began, and how this industry affects ecosystems and the environment. Using this knowledge, students will begin an action plan using Catholic social justice teachings of the Church to act as stewards of the environment. Students will work with their school community to do their part to work for the common good of all people and the environment.

Grade 6:

1. analyse how the properties of fluids are used in various technologies, and assess the impact of these technologies on society and the environment;

Understand that the principle of human dignity, revealed in Scripture (i.e. the belief that the human person is made in the image and likeness of God) requires Christians to work for the common good of all people (i.e. respect for the social nature of the human person) and to participate in society.
