ServSafe is a food and beverage safety training and certificate program administered by the National Restaurant Association and is accredited by ANSI and the CFP. Students taking classes in the FACS program are given the opportunity to take the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Exam. This Career Readiness Indicator (CRI) certifies that students have the knowledge of sanitation and food safety needed to work at a management level in the food industry. ServSafe training and certification is recognized by more federal, state, and local jurisdictions than any other food safety certification. Currently, MHS's FACS program certifies more students in ServSafe than any other program in Talladega County.

Our 9th grade students participated in what we called ”Day at the Bank!”. We had visitors, Trey and Jeremy, from Noblebank in Anniston, Al. They led our classes through an interactive Nearpod lesson on Careers in Banking, types of financial accounts, filling out a check, and credit scores. This lesson was used to educate students on real world financial practices and to connect them with local community business partners. Afterwards, students participated in a Q&A session with Trey and Jeremy.
Career Readiness Indicators (CRIs) are credentials/certifications made available to all students enrolled in a program where career and technical skill proficiencies are aligned with industry-recognized standards. These certifications prepare students for success in college or the work place. The certifications also provide proof of students' ability and skill levels, giving students a slight advantage over other applicants. The following is a list of certifications offered at Munford High School.
