The primary assignments of the committee will be to:
Prepare the resolutions for presentation to Convention.
Prepare recognition materials for members of the Association.
This committee will hold its first meeting at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 24. Refer to the Room Schedule for exact room. Some District Directors will serve as advisors to this group. One will preside over the opening meeting and will ask the group to select the chair, who must be an appointed member of your committee and an official Convention voting delegate.
Your chair will present the committee's report to the Convention at the Third Business Meeting on Saturday morning. The committee will present the last portion of the Resolutions during the Saturday Chapter Awards Banquet. The committee will prepare appropriate resolutions for the Convention's approval and any special resolutions that may be called for during the Convention.Â
Any resolutions presented to the Convention should be concluded with a motion for their adoption by your chair, seconded by another member of your committee. The Convention Chair would then ask the Convention to vote and, presumably, to adopt the resolutions.
Suggestions for improving the Convention are always welcome from your committee and others because we want to make the annual meeting of Tau Beta Pi stimulating, enjoyable, and successful for everyone.
Resolutions presented to and adopted by recent Conventions are included to the left and are provided as a guide. They include statements of appreciation to appropriate people, and they end with an inspirational statement on the ideals of Tau Beta Pi. Lists of people, chapters, and occasions suggested for possible inclusion in your resolutions are on the committee website.
Appreciation plaques for our host chapters and arrangements chair have been prepared. Your committee chair will be seated at the head table in order to present the awards.
Please provide electronic copies of all files, motions, reports, and proposals to the Convention Chair and Executive Director via email (tbp.convbus@tbp.org) prior to the Business Meeting when a report will be presented.
