Introduction
Animal abuse is a big problem surrounding the world today. Animals used for testing, experiments and just cruelty towards them. To prevent animal abuse, we should hire more staff to take care of the animals in shelters so they can be rescued from cruelty.
What is Animal Abuse
Animal abuse is essentially harming, hurting or inflicting pain onto any type of animal in any way. Animal abuse can also include neglect in a monstrous way. This could include not giving the animal food and/or water which leads them to suffering or dying. Animal abuse could be shown through putting the animal through imminent danger of death. Animal abuse can also be named animal cruelty. This can also be difficult to recognise but it has been proven to be a pervasive problem. Animal abuse/cruelty can be put on any type of species or community of animals. No animal is safe from abuse and neglect. Animal abuse is simply putting harm on any type of animal that will cause damage to them and/or possibly kill them. Animal abuse can be defined as the crime of causing any type of harm to an animal. Animal abuse will mentally or physically damage any type of animal depending on how bad the abuse is. Abuse could also be identified as forcing animals to fight each other for personal gain or benefit.
Types Of Harm
There are many types of harm being done to all sorts of animals. Unwilling male bottlenose dolphins are masturbated. For female dolphins, they’re sometimes drugged so they won’t fight back while people shove tubes filled with semen into their uteri. After being removed from the water, these dolphins are usually placed in foam cells. Humans abuse animals through 4 types of ways; people keep companion, farm, laboratory and captive wild animals to use for their own personal purposes. The second is causing intentional harm to animals through things like slaughter, pest control, hunting and toxicology testing. The third is that people cause direct but unintended harm to animals through crop production, transportation and many other types of human activities. The final type is that people harm animals indirectly by disturbing the ecological systems and the process of nature. Animals are abused most in Asia. In Asia, bears are being captured, held captive and caged for their bile. Cats and dogs are being slaughtered in horrific ways for their meat. In Asia, exploitation of animals is common and widespread.
Consequences For Humans
If animal abuse is being done and is caught, the person abusing will be held for 5 years in prison. This will also include $100,000 if an individual is caught. If a company is held for animal abuse in the use of animal testing, they’ll be charged $500,000. In 2019, the act of animal abuse, cruelty and torture was signed into law. This made doing certain acts to an animal a federal crime which could send you into jail. Depending on your level of cruelty you could be sentenced with 5-7 years in jail or a $100,000 fine. If you are caught doing animal abuse or cruelty, you could be charged for it. When you are charged or locked up in jail, your animals will be taken away from you and will be kept far away from you.
Animal Testing
Animal testing is basically something where procedures are performed on living animals for purposes of research into basic biology and diseases. Most of the procedures performed include using some sort of chemical on an animal. All procedures, including mild ones, have the potential to cause the animals physical or mental suffering from it. Animal testing can also be named Animal Experiments. The experiments include injecting or force feeding animals with potentially harmful substances. It could also be performing surgery to cause deliberate damage to the animal. An experiment could also be forcing animals to inhale toxic gasses that could permanently damage their systems or even subjecting animals to frightening situations where it will leave the animal with anxiety and/or depression. Through experiments, some include forcing mice and rats to inhale toxic gasses. Force feeding dogs pesticides, the experiments could also include dropping corrosive chemicals into rabbit eyes. Even if a product physically or mentally harms or kills an animal, it can still be marketed to humans.
Possible Solutions
When it comes to animal cruelty, you can help prevent it by setting examples and sending awareness to it. This can be done by teaching kids about it or just writing about it so people can know how bad it is. It’s most important to let others know so they can spread it on to others so hopefully lots of people can take action if they see it being done anywhere. For animals that have been getting abused, they’ve been brought into the SPCA where they’ll do a check up and rescue the animal. This animal rescue could be a good way to prevent animals from being hurt. Desexing can help slow down the spread of animals suffering from neglect and harm across New Zealand. Another solution is to take note of animal abuse being done around town and report it. This will ensure animals get cared for properly sooner. If you report or notice an animal in harm or distress, it can be helped and saved from any neglect, harm or suffering it may face if you do nothing about it.
Conclusion
It has come to the end of this report. The best way to prevent animal abuse is by getting them to animal shelters and hiring more staff to take care of them. Advertising can be the best way to hire this staff. As long as we have more staff to look after the animals, this will stop the spread of animals being neglected and suffering.
