Reflection #3
Why humans biggest flaw is decision making. Inquiry
Reflect on how you went during your inquiry. What did you learn? Methods to manage emotions and bias / make better decisions.
Explain how you worked toward your goals and how it helped your learning. Doing my PMI analysis helped me by giving me more marks and having 9-10 hours of sleep everyday helped me to focus. And finishing my work quicker helped me to not be late handing in stuff. What worked? Doing my PMI analysis, getting 9-10 hours of sleep everyday and finishing my work quicker. What didn’t? Trying to contact a expert. What will you do differently next time? I will try and contact an expert quicker. How did you improve from the last inquiry? Was your topic choice good or could it be better? I feel like my topic itself wasn't bad but the topic was just a bit too hard.
Write your reflection here...
My third Inquiry went... Not as good as i hoped. I think this was because… I was away during the middle of my inquiry for a week. I then missed out / didn't learn about certain things / how to do things better etc.
The Why humans biggest flaw is decision making Inquiry was really useful as it taught me… All about methods to make better decisions / ways to manage emotions and biases.
I think my topic choice was... An interesting topic but a really hard topic at the same time. because.... I feel like not everyone wants to admit humans aren't always the best at making decisions; causing it to be much harder to get the necessary information i needed.
One of my goals was to… Be more committed to completing my pmi analysis and contacting an expert. by working on this goal it helped me to improve my learning because it taught me… That just the PMI analysis has so much information; making your mothership have much more information.
The goal I did the best with was… Kind of redirecting my focus in counting / doubling numbers into my work. the reason it went so well was because… I would try to get straight onto my work, not letting myself get bored and start doubling / counting numbers.
I was a bit frustrated with how one goal went because…. I didn't manage to contact my expert in the end; making me lose points and not fulfill a goal.
Next time I will… Focus on contacting an expert, and pick a topic that isn't as hard. this will help me because…. I will be able to find more information easily and i wont lose points on contacting an expert.
Evidence of Term 2 goals being met.
Copy and paste all relevant evidence in the form of screenshots or written explanations of what was done to achieve your 4 goals for Term 2.
e.g. Test results, teacher feedback, parent feedback, peer feedback, your own explantion of things you did etc.
I didn't get around to contacting an expert in this inquiry because the topic was hard to find an expert for. This tells me that maybe my topic need refining and more thought. I did manage to complete my pmi analysis which was good as it helped me figure out my best solution and I got a 4/5 for Thesis. For next time I will try to evaluate and synthesize more of the information into the PMI solutions.
I had a bit of trouble redirecting my focus of counting numbers in my head at times; but i was starting to get the hang of it at times. I have chosen really good topic in Animal welfare so this will help me.
I am managing to get at least 9 hours of sleep basically everyday. But sometimes I doom scroll in bed at night for 30mins-1hour. I think one way i could try to stop doom scrolling at night is to maybe set a no-screens rule where i have to put down my device 30-60 minutes before bed or maybe charging my phone in another room.
Even though i was away for a week and was away i managed to get my inquiry finished quickly.
