Reflection # 1
Ancestry Inquiry
Reflect on how you went during your inquiry. What did you learn? How do you feel about Inquiry?
Explain how you worked toward your goals and how it helped your learning. What worked? What didn’t? What will you do differently next time?
Write your reflection here... My first Inquiry went well because I got a 5a and I enjoyed The Ancestry Inquiry, it was beneficial as it taught me about why my nan left for New Zealand as well as some family history along with some history about the uk in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
How do I feel about Inquiry now that I’ve spent 4 weeks in it? Well, I have to say that inquiry suits the way I learn because it's really self-led and that's what I enjoy because I am a very self-motivated young man. But the people around me have been quite disrespectful to the teachers and classmates and can be too loud and obnoxious at times but other than that it has been good.
Evidence of Term 1 goals being met.
Copy and paste all relevant evidence in the form of screenshots or written explanations of what was done to achieve your 4 goals for Term 1.
e.g. Test results, teacher feedback, parent feedback, peer feedback, your own explantion of things you did etc.
Grade = 5A
A very good start to your Inquiry Journey, George. Your biography and challenges were well described and written in an engaging story-like fashion, so well done. Your notes were looking good, but came up a little incomplete. To improve, you could have researched more into the push and pull factors and expanded with a climate chart, advertising for travel in the 1970s to places like NZ that made it seem adventurous, and a measure of the quality of life in the UK in the 1970s. Anyway, all things to work on for next time. I have been extremely impressed with your engagement in the inquiry program so far, George. Your positive attitude and maturity make you a pleasure to teach in the classroom. Keep up the good work!
