Reflection #8
Innovation Inquiry
Reflect on how you went during your inquiry. What did you learn?
What were some of the challenges of innovating?
Explain how you worked toward your goals and how it helped your learning. What worked? What didn’t? What would you do differently next time?
Write your reflection here...
My eighth Inquiry went alright, I think this was because I wasn't as committed to this inquiry as it was a different way of doing inquiry that I didn't enjoy as much
The Innovation Inquiry was really useful as it taught me to find the problem before the solution, and try and look at deeper and nuanced solutions
I think my innovation was good because it tackled a big football problem in the social media world
The biggest challenge of innovating for me was making a prototype
One of my goals was to pass my co-reqs by working on this goal, and it helped me to improve my learning because it taught me that you get out what you put in
The goal I did the best with was enjoying my football season. It went so well because I focused on just enjoying the game I love instead of constantly just trying to play well, because when you almost try too hard, it doesn't work, so when I focused on enjoying playing well came with it, along with the enjoyment
I was a bit frustrated with how one goal went because I didn't pass all three co-reqs
Next time, I will continue to work on things I believe I am quite good at/competent at, which will help me in life because you can always get better at something
Evidence of Term 2 goals being met.
Copy and paste all relevant evidence in the form of screenshots or written explanations of what was done to achieve your 4 goals for Term 2.
e.g. Test results, teacher feedback, parent feedback, peer feedback, your own explantion of things you did etc.
I made an effort to support classmates who needed help, but I didn't put myself out there enough to help, mainly cause I was struggling a little bit myself.
I passed two out of three, so not bad, but not the full result I wanted, but I have another chance in September
3. We went on a streak of three big wins, but have fallen away recently
4.
Evindence
I committed to studying maths on Saturdays, as that's my weakest subject, for a couple of hours with my dad
5E. Good research and identified a problem and a solution that addresses it. The idea phase (crazy 8s) was skipped over so it seems you jumped to your solution without working the problem enough and the user research is linked to the solution in some ways but not others e.g. 67% kind of found it annoying to use multiple apps. The survey could have been expanded to consider what features users would want in an all-in-one app. Also, you are limited in the innovation side of things by just going for an all-in-one approach. A more specific approach to dealing with one specific problem within social mediating of football may have lead to a more nuanced solution.
This is my prototype for the app
