Introduction:

You need to have a job that you will enjoy. so that is why I have chosen to do software development as my job for doing my inquiry on. In my inquiry I will answer what will get you a CV higher on the list, what you need to do to become a successful software developer. In this inquiry I have interviewed three experts so some of this information will be coming from people who work in software development.

Job description

Working as a coder what you are doing is coding but you are coding what you have been assigned to you could be working for yourself or microsoft. You are also taking to clients if they want a website coded then they will call you then you have to see what they want and do the best you can to code it. You have to work out what you code what you want the program to do so if you are making a game you have to probably work with many other people so you need good communication skills. From what my experts have told me you have to do a lot of testing so it is right so you can move on to the next piece of code. And you are also updating pre existing programs.

Great things about the job

In this job from what all my experts have told me and showed me the work environment is very good and it is just more of a chill work environment. They do this because you are not your computer mast of the day so you don't want to be cramped up in a tight little office. So they make it so you can talk to your peers. From what we can see right now it looks like there are going to be more coding jobs than ever before because we are moving into a digital age. And this is good if you want to become a coder because there will are a lot more jobs for you to pick from. Since covid is here if you were a software developer you would still get to work because all the work you do is on computers. If you are making something for a big corporation you will probably need to go over to where they are so you will get to travel all around the world.

Not so great things about the job

When you are a coder you have to do a lot of work so you get the program done when it needs to be done and me experts told me that he would have to get up very late because there is a litter bug in the code so he had to get up and fix it. It is quite hard to know all the types of code but you need to know a few so that you aren't only working with one code because if you are self employed and the bigger company wants you to wright a peace of code for them but you don't know how to code that you have to turn it down so you should know a few types of code and that can take a while to learn.

Qualifications needed

With software developers there are actually no qualifications needed to get a job in fact all my experts did no direct software development courses at university they all did self employment so other bigger companies would hire them but they would not only work for them they would do this with many companies and this is how they learnt how to get good at there job and what companies are looking for with employees but they all said doing something at university like a computer science bachelor would give you a head start so you know what you are doing.

Pay

Being a software developer at the beginning you get paid about 70,000 a year and that is when you are not training you are just starting out working in this job but you know what to do. Then when you are a bit better and maybe you work for a bigger company you get paid about 100,000 a year but if you are a very big company and you are pretty high in the ranks then you will get payed about 123,123 a year.

skills required

The most needed skill is coding so you can work and do something. You need to know how computer software and systems work so you know how to code them and what you can and can’t change. Another skill that is needed is programming languages and techniques so you can code in different languages and use them in different ways that might make it better. Being able to go back through your code to correct mistakes and maybe even improve the code.

What will get your CV higher than all the others

The first thing you can do is go to uni for a Bachelor for computer science most other people will be doing this but it will still help. All of my experts have told me the mail thing they are looking for on a CV and do they really know what to do and are they dedicated to doing the job. so you need to show that you want to do the job by doing more things than you need to like being self employed and madey even just doing digital tech in college. You also need to have good communication skills so if you are making some software you need to plan i am doing this you are doing that so you are not both doing the same thing and if you are talking to clients you need to be able to talk to them with confidence. You could also do some unpaid work so people get to see how you work and to get some work experience.

You need to know how to code so you can work

you need you need to want to work there so you get the work done and be hard working also

What to do at high school

So you don't have to do anything at school but doing stuff like coding classes and dgt tech will put you above the others and this will give you the basics of coding and just how to do other stuff to see if you like doing that. If you are do a type of accounting then you need to know math so that would be good to do as well

What to do to get your CV higher what my experts said they are looking for people with good communications skills so if you are working with someone you don't do the same thing they also recommended doing self employed work so you know if you like the job if you want to do it. You need to know how to be good at public speaking so you can talk to your clients

I want to do this career because i love all the aspects of it

I want to do this career because I live what you get to do. I get to do and I like doing stuff with computers like pulling them apart and just looking at them and how they work and in this job you could be coding the computer and I like coding. So from what i have done in dgt i have really enjoyed it and that is what made me want to become a software developer.

Conclusion

I think this is a great job to go for because from what we can see now i t looks like there are going to be a lot more robots so we’ll need more people to code them so the jobs should always be open.
