We believe being brave is about being resilient, persistent, and ambitious.
We believe that diverse ability, culture, and opinion makes our organization stronger.
We’re not just preparing our girls to enter the workforce - we’re preparing them to lead it, to improve it, to completely and totally transform it.
We do more than teach girls to code. We prepare them to thrive and lead in the tech workforce.
Girls Who Code values diversity, equity and inclusion as essential to our mission. We focus our work not only on gender diversity but also on young women who are historically underrepresented in computer science fields.
Clubs are free programs for all 3rd-12th graders of any skill level to join a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models using computer science to change the world. Clubs are completely free and offer fun activities through a flexible curriculum that adapts to your unique needs. Clubs can be integrated into STEM-focused classes or take place after school, on weekends, or during the summer. Held in-person or entirely online.

This club helps you turn your ideas into real projects. You'll learn the basics of coding, design, and problem-solving--no experience needed. Whether you want to build an app, create a website, or just try something new, you'll gain skills that can be used in school, competitions like STLP, and future careers. You'll also build confidence, work with others, join a sisterhood, and create something that actually makes an impact in your school or community!
Any girl enrolled at Taylor County High School who is brave enough to try something new! Amateurs, experts, it doesn't matter, all are welcome!
Nope! That's the fun part. Girls Who Code is a curriculum-based club! We will go through modules and lessons that slowly build upon the fundamentals of coding.
Sign up for Girls Who Code with Ms. Harris in the library or at club-round up! We would love to have you!
In the library on club days! If the club interferes with another club you really want to be part of, come talk to Ms. Harris about setting up meeting times outside of club day!
We will only meet on designated Club Days during school hours, unless discussed otherwise. Some students might need more one-on-one instruction or help on certain tasks in the curriculum and project-building. Members are encouraged to check-in regularly with Ms. Harris on their progress!
Recommended time: 1-2 hours per week
