Amy Reynolds

I have twenty years of experience in school counseling, mental health counseling and substance abuse prevention in both North Carolina and Kentucky.  The 2019-20 school year was my first year at Taylor County Middle School and I feel very blessed to be a part of this team! I am certified in Reality Therapy and incorporate the concepts of Reality Therapy/Choice Theory* through individual counseling, small group counseling, and classroom guidance.  My greatest joy as a school counselor is to see students growing socially, and emotionally and taking responsibility for their selves and their futures.

I  live in Campbellsville with my husband, daughter and two crazy dogs. We love to travel and are currently working on our goal of visiting every US National Park.

*What is Reality Therapy/Choice Theory?  Reality therapy is a counseling approach based in Choice Theory. The approach focuses on helping individuals identify what they want (their goals) and what choices they have to help them achieve those goals.  Current choices are evaluated to determine if they are helping (or hindering) the individual  in reaching their goals.  Individuals are supported as they develop a plan for achieving their goal(s).

I am excited to be serving students to help them thrive in a safe learning environment, promote developmental interpersonal skills by building positive relationships with peers, adults and community around them.  Also,  helping students recognize their individual strengths.

I have sixteen years experience in the school setting, fourteen years teaching 4th grade and the last two as a School Counselor.  I am a dual certification graduate in Special Education P-12 and General Education K-5, Masters Degree in School Counseling and Rank I in Play Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University.  I live in Campbellsville with my husband, Scott and two loving sons Noah and Rex.
