For this assessment, students prepare a written Summary of the research question and research outcome to a maximum of 150 words.
Students also prepare a written Evaluation to a maximum of 1500 words. The evaluation can include visual material (eg.photos, diagrams) integrated into the written text.
A Bibliography/Reference List is required when students have made direct references to sources within the Evaluation.
**The written summary is NOT included as a part of the 1500 word count**
Credible - the source is qualified to provide accurate information (good for qualitative data)
Trustworthy - the source can be relied upon to provide accurate information (good for qualitative data)
Consistent - several sources convey the same information (good for qualitative data)
Reliable - if I gathered a similar set of data in a similar way, the result would be very similar (good for quantitative data)
Internally valid - the process of collecting data tells me what I want to know and is not misleading in any way (good for quantitative data, but also for interviews and surveys)
Externally valid - the results from a sample can be applied with confidence to the relevant population (reliable predictions can be made) (good for quantitative data, but also for interviews and surveys)
Biased - the data is not balanced; it is affected in a critical way by someone's opinions and perception (good for qualitative data)
