When I created my professional goals, I put down that my weaknesses were easily distracted, questioning skills, talking too fast, creativity, and indecisiveness. From these weaknesses, I have grown the most in creativity and questioning skills. With creativity, I have learned different ways to engage my students in the lessons by using their iPads and other techniques. I have also learned how to ask more higher-order questions to get the students thinking but to also check for understanding.
My teaching will address the needs of 21st century learners by using updated technology in an appropriate way. An example will be the calculators. I will use the most up-to-date calculators and teach students certain techniques on them. I will also use any technology that the school gives the students to help enhance the learning. Such as, the school I am student teaching at has distributed iPads to all the students. I created a KAHOOT! for the students and they used their iPads to play the game. I can use similar technology and techniques with the students throughout the school year.
