Medication may be administered in the health office/at school with the following components:
Medication order completed by MD/NP
Completed parent/guardian consent form
Medication in the original prescription or manufacturer's container labeled with student name, signed in by an adult at the health office
Students may NOT bring any medicine, prescription or non-prescription (for example: Tylenol, Advil, Cough Drops, TUMs, Lactaid, etc.) to school. The State considers cough drops as medicine which must have a doctor's order and written parent/guardian consent form, please do NOT send to school with your child. Most antibiotic medication schedules and 3 time a day medicines can be administered outside school hours.
*New* this year is the availability of certain medication as ordered by our school physician considered standing orders. These medications include calamine lotion, vaseline, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, and Benadryl. These will still require a parent/guardian consent as well.
